InZOI Dev Hints at Console Version Plans
The developers of Inzoi have confirmed plans to bring the game to both Xbox and PS5, although no specific release date has been announced yet. The life simulation genre is currently thriving, with increased competition following the cancelation of Life By You, Paralives aiming for Early Access in 2025, and The Sims 5 still in development. Among these contenders, Inzoi, developed by Krafton using Unreal Engine 5, appears to be one of the most promising.
With its hyperrealistic graphics and enhanced gameplay, Inzoi is being promoted as a next-gen experience, heavily inspired by The Sims. The game’s character creator demo has already gained significant popularity since its Steam release, raising player expectations for the full game. The official launch is set for late 2024, initially exclusive to PC on Steam, but it’s clear that Krafton aims to expand Inzoi to multiple platforms.
According to a developer update on Inzoi’s official Discord, a console version for Xbox and PS5 is indeed in development. However, it’s worth noting that Inzoi is expected to be a highly demanding game, and adapting it for consoles, particularly the Xbox Series S, could be challenging. The game’s features include fully simulated, detailed neighborhoods with cutting-edge graphics and animations, building on the core concept of The Sims 3 and pushing it to new heights. While the demo has performed smoothly and has been well-received by streamers, it remains to be seen how the full game will run on standard gaming PCs.

With rumors of a PS5 Pro launch in late 2024, there’s speculation that Krafton may take advantage of the enhanced hardware for the console port of Inzoi. The Xbox adaptation, especially for the Series S, presents more uncertainty, as seen with the compromises made by other high-performance games like Baldur’s Gate 3. Given these hurdles, it’s possible that Inzoi may remain a PC exclusive for much of 2025.
Despite these challenges, Inzoi has made a strong impression through its character creation demo and gameplay footage, positioning itself as a potential major competitor to The Sims. While dethroning the reigning king of life sims is no easy feat, Inzoi brings a fresh and modern take on the genre, something many players feel The Sims has been lacking.
