InZOI: The Hyper-Realistic Sims Rival Finally Launches on Steam
Who would be brave enough to take on The Sims 4? I know I wouldn’t, given its massive, long-lasting cultural impact. But luckily, some developers are more daring than me. With a slew of new life sim games announced recently, many have struggled to gain traction. However, inZOI is inching steadily toward its release. The game just took another step forward by unveiling its brand-new Steam page.
Part life sim, part sandbox, inZOI gives you control over nearly every aspect of the world as the city itself exists on your in-game desk. This setup leans more toward a god game style, where you have the power to shape narratives and experiences for your Zoi character. You’ll have full control over your city’s design, the weather, and many other elements, crafting a life for your Zoi exactly how you envision.
Although inZOI offers city customization, it’s not a sprawling city-builder. Like The Sims, the focus is on guiding a single character through their day-to-day life. You’ll form relationships, manage jobs, and even drive and commute around town, making the simulation feel richer and more expansive than other titles in the genre.
With long waits for other life sim titles like Paralives, the game by ex-XCOM dev Jake Solomon, or any news on a potential Sims sequel, and the recent sudden cancellation of Life By You, the life sim genre is starting to feel a little empty. That makes it all the more exciting to see inZOI staking its claim on Steam ahead of its appearance at Gamescom 2024, even though the exact release date is still unknown.
For now, inZOI is listed as “coming soon” on Steam, and you can head over to its store page to add it to your wishlist.

They consider a multiplayer/co-op but nothing has been confirmed nor denied yet. I hope for a online lobby to meet new people, befriend and chat with them. (I don’t think a roleplay would work in those lobbies though so it’s more like a hangout place) and whereas in co-op you can share a world with your friend and do all the game features
